Mr. Fergus Bailey, a student from a previously disadvantaged background, is the most recent recipient of a bursary from LCE (for the duration of 2014), which covered accommodation, a living allowance, an allowance for books and stationary, transport to and from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and tuition fees for his study towards a B. Tech. in Civil (Water) Engineering.
Michael Chivala is a previous recipient of a bursary from LCE, which covered accommodation, a living allowance, an allowance for books and stationary, transport to and from the University of Stellenbosch and tuition fees for his study towards a B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering.
Having completed his Civil Engineering Diploma at the Polytechnic of Namibia, Mr. De Waal received a bursary from LCE, which covered his tuition fees, accommodation and travelling expenses in full, to study towards a Bachelor of Engineering Degree at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He successfully completed his undergraduate studies and graduated with a B. Eng (Civil) degree in December 2007. Thereafter, he went on to successfully complete post graduate study towards a MSc (Eng.) degree at the end of 2010.
A supplementary bursary was given to Mr. B. Buys who studied civil engineering at the University of Witwatersrand and who has since obtained his B.Sc (Eng.) degree. This bursary covered the full 4 year study period. A supplementary bursary was given to Mr. J. Kafidi (in 2007 and 2008) to complete his studies towards a B. Tech in Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic of Namibia.
Mr. Muinyangue was given a full bursary, which covered his tuition, travelling and accommodation expenses in full, from LCE, to enable him to study towards a B. Tech Degree in Surveying at the Cape Technikon in Cape Town, South Africa, which he successfully completed in 2003. Further bursaries will be allocated should potential candidates be identified.
