Annual Tender And Standard Documents For Road Maintenance In Namibia’s Protected Areas: Etosha And Daan Viljoen National Parks
LCE have been appointed by the MET to provide professional services for the preparation of annual tender and standard contract documents for the maintenance of tourist roads in various National Parks. These annual tenders are to be similar to the ones used by the Roads Authority and kept as simple as possible, but provide the option of appointing the listed Contractor on predefined rates, where possible. The identified sections of roads in the various National Parks (Etosha, Daan Viljoen and the Namib-Naukluft National Parks and the Hardap Recreation Resort) were inspected in order to determine the requirements for rehabilitation and/or upgrading, following which draft annual tender and standard documents were submitted to the MET. The recommendations provided by LCE are currently being implemented at various locations in the Etosha, Namib-Naukluft and Daan Viljoen National Parks, by appointed contractors, for which LCE is carrying out the contract documentation, contract administration, construction supervision and quality control.
